Me and my phone: the longest relationship I've ever had

I try to be a person who doesn't rely completely on electronic devices; on one side, to save myself from suffering in case they get lost and, on the other side, to keep cultivating, and not leaving aside, certain aspects which I consider relevant that have been left aside since the boom of technology.

Despite the previous point, and as a college student, technology is fundamental in life most of the time; their uses go from reading or writing for university to keeping in touch with other people or lurking. In this sense, phone is what I use the most: I can read and highlight texts, taking tests, write e-mails, listen to music, keep in touch with my family, among many other things.

It's true that I prefer to keep my tasks separated -for example, I would rather read and write texts on my laptop-, but still, the cellphone is easier to carry around and, as stated before, gives me the possibility to sum up several devies in one.

A while ago, my phone was stolen on my way back home and I had to spend a couple weeks without a new one; that period of time made me realize how much I really need it and use it. I was completely distanced from my classmates, so doubts about works or texts couldn't be solved until meeting them personally. I couldn't set alarms either -because I'm way too hard to wake up-, and lost important files (pictures and music). Those were stressful days, full of stress and confusion, yet I finally managed to live without my mobile.

Recently, I got a new phone -that I almost lost again-, and we have gotten into a new relationship, which hopefully, will last for a long time. I use it most part of my day and now I', fully intended to take care of it properly.
